<p>Artist <a href="http://www.cotterrell.com/">David Cotterrell</a> will be creating a social history art project that aims to capture the transformation of our area. It&#8217;s a really original approach: a video installation featuring footage shot from an airborne, remote-controlled camera flying over our heads.</p>

<p><strong>Do you have stories of how North Peckham has changed over the years? If so we want to hear from you. </strong></p>
<p>We are looking for residents who have lived in North Peckham for over 20 years to be involved in this social history project at Peckham Space.</p>
<p>Your stories will feature in a film of the area that will be on exhibition at Peckham Space from May – July 2011.</p>

		<title>No listed status for local school</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>English Heritage recently made an inspection of Gloucester School for possible listing. <span id="more-26"></span></p>
<p>While the final recommendation was not to grant listed status, some interesting history of the school and building has emerged, more of which you can see in the report linked to below.</p>
<ul>
<li>Gloucester School was built in 1875 by the School Board of London (SBL)</li>
<li>It follows the ‘Queen Anne’ design for secular schools of the time, an alternative to the ‘gothic’ styles of Anglican Schools.</li>
<li>It was originally called “Gloucester Road School’ and was built to serve the working class areas to the south of the Camberwell basin of the Grand Surrey Canal (now part of Burgess Park).</li>
<li>The school suffered serious bomb damage during WW2 but was deemed ‘repairable’.</li>
</ul>
