Over the last 2 years EQRA has raised this problem on a number of occasions with TfL.  Disappointingly, TfL have responded that they are satisfied that capacity is adequate.

We have now compiled a video which might help to challenge TfL’s view.

If you find you are being left behind by the 63, or have any other problems with our local bus services, please complain to TfL – and keep complaining every time it happens as this will help maintain the pressure to sort the problem out.  TfL’s contact details are:

Incredibly, Boris Johnson has now decided to overturn this plan.

Not willing to give up the fight, we’ve joined forces with the Wells Way Triangle Residents’ Association to campaign even more actively for improved local transport, and issued the following press release to voice our outrage.

We believe that the extra voices may give us more traction with TfL who now seem to be seriously considering diverting the 42 bus along Wells Way and Southampton Way. This would give us a link to the City and beyond and also a useful bus route into Camberwell.

EQRA’s summer party, generously funded by a Grassroots Grant from the Capital Community Foundation, attracted a wide cross-section of the North Peckham community and was a tremendous success!  Thanks to everybody who helped out, baked delicious home-made goodies or came along on the day.

The organisers have been collecting other stories from local people about their memories and experiences of the North Peckham Estate. These testimonies are being added to an interactive map and, when the exhibition is over, will become a permanent part of the Southwark Archive – housed at Newington Library on Walworth Road.

Evolution and South Quarter are both relatively new estates, but do you remember the North Peckham Estate as it was before our homes were built? Did you previously live on the North Peckham Estate or know someone who did? Do you remember the high-rise walkways?

If you do have a story to tell or a photo to show, you can drop these into Peckham Space or email them to info@peckhamspace.com with ‘MEMORIES OF NORTH PECKHAM ESTATE’ in the subject line.

You’re also invited to take part in an event ‘Memories of  North Peckham’ on 16th July from 2-4pm, where residents can meet one another and discuss their memories over free tea and biscuits.

It’s part of his ‘Slipstream‘ project, commissioned by Peckham Space in collaboration with EQRA, which aims to document and contrast the changing landscape of our area.

EQRA was there to film some of the activity taking place in the sky above the Gloucester School playground last week.
