The Olympic Torch came to Southwark and added some glitz to the area which has recently seen a boost from the re-opened Burgess Park. EQRA and local residents headed over to the Burgess Park entrance on Trafalgar Avenue to cheer on the procession.
The torch was carried by Adam Grodecki, co-founder and chair of ‘Student Hubs’, a charity aimed at engaging students with social and environmental issues.
The pre event caravan procession was not quite in the league of the Tour De France but there was music and free bottles of coke to get people in the mood.
