Olympic torch to visit North Peckham

The Olympic Torch is now part-way through a 70-day relay which will take it to every part of the United Kingdom.

On Thursday 26th July, the day before the Olympic opening ceremony, it will visit North Peckham.  The route through Southwark borough will bring the torch from old Kent Road along Trafalgar Avenue, passing the end of St. George’s Way and Burgess Park, then onwards along Willowbrook Road, crossing the bridge over Surrey Canal walk, and down Peckham Hill Street into Peckham itself.

We are planning to hold an informal EQRA social gathering to mark the occasion, to line the route near Burgess Park to cheer the torch (and torchbearer) as it passes through on 26th July.  Watch this space for further details!
