A hosepipe ban is now in force in our area. The ban, which came into effect last week, follows a prolonged dry spell. It applies not only to watering the garden, but also for any other purpose (such as washing the car or filling a paddling pool).
The water shortage is also affecting the reopening of Burgess Park. New plants and grass have been seeded, but will now need water so that they can establish themselves before the park can re-open. Southwark Council have advised EQRA that Burgess Park will be open in time for the school summer holidays, but cannot give a precise date at the moment.
Coincidentally, we have had a little rain in the days since the hosepipe ban was imposed.
