Well, ok, not earth-shattering change for a better society – but a few simple, local changes to make life easier.

Smoothing steps
For those of you who use the “scenic route” to walk into Peckham (the Surrey Canal towpath), you may have noticed the introduction of a slope into the park where for years there have been two uneven steps.
This is something EQRA suggested in its first year (as part of the Council’s “Cleaner, Greener, Safer” scheme) to make the route buggy and bike-friendly.
Targeting Turds
After years of nagging, we have finally succeeded in getting Calypso Gardens on the map… F.I.D.O’s map. Now, we are visited once a week by F.I.D.O. Don’t ask us what it stands for – but it’s a vacuum cleaner for dog poo.
At last, we can walk and play in the park with less risk of stepping in something nasty. The next job is to educate irresponsible dog owners to clean up after their animals.
Clearing congestion
And after an email campaign, EQ has pushed the Council to introduce double yellow lines along St George’s Way at the junction with Wells Way. Parking on both sides of the road there was leading to serious congestion.
Tailbacks as far as Albany Road were regular in rush hour: worsening the 343 service.
Any other ideas for improvements to the area – just let us know.
